The establishment of Ipswich Girls' Grammar School is deeply rooted in community generosity and support. Under the Grammar Schools Act of 1860, the government pledged to contribute £2,000 towards the creation of a Grammar School once £1,000 was raised through donations and subscriptions within any district.
In pursuit of this goal, the Provisional Committee [of Ipswich Girls' Grammar School] reached out to the gentlemen of Ipswich and West Moreton. By February 27, 1890, their efforts were rewarded with subscriptions totalling Eleven Hundred and Sixteen Pounds, Eighteen Shillings and Sixpence, ensuring the foundation of our cherished school.
Your continued support helps us build on this legacy, fostering excellence and opportunity for future generations. Thank you for being a part of our story.
It is possible to support our school in a variety of ways, such as donating to the Building Fund, Library Fund, Speech Night, Presentation Night, or even making a bequest.
Our goal is to create a stimulating and innovative learning environment that is geared toward opening doors to a brilliant future for our students. The school is committed to staying at the forefront of educational innovation by providing quality facilities, offering comprehensive academic and co-curricular programs, and employing highly qualified staff.
As in the past, we have been fortunate to receive significant donations from former students, their families, and the wider community. These donations have contributed to leaving a lasting legacy for future generations- a legacy that we look forward to continuing with your support as well.
